Strict versus Moderate Cancelation policy

Hi All,

 

I have been using a Strict Cancelation policy since starting on Airbnb last march and have had great success so far.  I am contemplating on changing it to a Moderate Cancelation policy to see the effect.  I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with it and can offer any insight.

I am intrigued @Linda108, how do you apply a strict policy for a particular period but moderate for other times? It looks like a global change or nothing to me?

In my situation, there are a few high demand events during the high season.  I usually know that I will get bookings 9-12 months in advance.  So during the time period in which people are booking these events, my cancellation is strict.  Once these events are booked, I switch to moderate.  Not perfect but it works for me.
