TAX- Can I write off video streaming services such as Prime and Netflix?
Hi, I am wondering if I can, and how to write off certain services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime which I got for guests to use. Though at times I do use them myself, I maintain my subscription just for guest to use. Can I write these off on my taxes? Will they expect me to devide the cost based on how many days I have reservations or can I write off the entire amount?
You should be able to write off anything you provide for guests use as cost of sales, TV service, Internet access, power etc. Maybe consult with a tax specialist to find out exactly how much. I dont live in my listing so I claim 100% for cost of sales.
Do you think it really matters if the listing is shared or not? Netflix and Prime are both services that can be accessed on multiple devices at any location at any time, so technically, you are sharing this with your guests even if you are listing the entire place.
