Tourism Tax Menorca/Balears

Hi,

i got informed that one month ago the balearic authorities decided to introduce an tourism tax starting with 1.7.

Of course most of my guests already booked before today, so i would have to collect the tax at their check-in.

It could amass to nearly 2000€ for this year alone, so if i would pay it from my pocket it would be a big hit.

How do other hosts handle this matter??

There are two realities: existing booked guests and those that will book into the future.

Existing guests: choice between charging the added tax ~if~ it doesn't come across tacky OR best to eat the cost. approach.

Future Guests: put it into the price and that is that. Then no need for it even coming up in the conversation.
