Hi, I am in UK - I am really really fed up, frustrated and angry at the payout system from AirBnB.
The payouts have become really late and I have to chase and chase AirBnB to get them at all. I have actually stopped taking new bookings as this is so bad. Just wondering whether other people are having the same issue, particularly in the UK?
If so, I'd love to hear from you, as I note that AirBnB is regulated in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority. If there is a pattern of bad behaviour on late payouts, I am minded to raise a formal complaint with the UK FSA - AirBnB no doubt think I am powerless.
Well, I am prepared to take them on with the FSA unless they get their act together. In this day and age it SHOULD NOT take over 14 days or more to get a payout from when it due. Really bad.

I'm so sorry to hear you've had this issue. Could you let me know if you've now received your payouts and/or if you can see them scheduled in your Transaction History?
As you may have seen on other threads around the CC lately, there was a technical issue which affected payouts due between 18-20 July. The Payments team identified the issue and it is now fixed, so if you still can't see any record of the payment in your Transaction History then it could be that your payment is being affected by a different issue, so do let me know.

Yes we are experiencing exactly the same difficulties. I expected a lot of money today as none was received last week. Sadly no payment arrived. Also the last payment came from Citibank ire.

I completely agree with you. We really should hade been told about the change. I had got used to the quick payments before whereas now I will check each and every payment in case anyone goes missing. It’s difficult to budget.
In the Ukraine had no problems at all receiving payments typically by faster payments service ahoeever my last 3 payments took over a week Comtacted Airbnb as a super host and was given the usual spiel about it could take 5 business days and were no help at all When I received the payments late I noticed the bank has changed to Citibank Ireland and the account no and sort code were new this would explain the late payment but why don’t their customer advisors know? A week later I am now waiting another 5 days for a payment Airbnb are not being straight with those who essentially bankroll their bisiness

On January 21st of this year, Airbnb's Payments Terms of Service were updated to state that for all transactions on and after March 25, 2019, the Contracting Entity for hosts whose country of residence is in the European Union, would be Airbnb Payments UK or Airbnb Payments Luxembourg, as notified to you at the time of checkout or by other appropriate means. (Presumably, this was in line with the original Brexit date of March 29th)
Meanwhile, on March 19th, US giant Citigroup - one of the world's leading investment banks - announced that it would be scaling up its Irish operations, and clients unable to conduct business through its UK entities after Brexit, would instead be able to access its products and services through Citibank Europe plc, which is HQ'ed in Dublin, and is a subsidiary of Citibank Holdings Ireland Ltd.
Uk-based Citibank International Ltd had already merged with Citibank Europe plc in 2016, so the fact that many UK hosts are now reporting that they're being paid through "Citibank Ireland" would appear to indicate that the UK payment operations have indeed been relocated as a result of Brexit implications.
There's also now a branch of Citibank Europe in Luxembourg, that was recently established as Britain was expected to lose financial passporting rights, which allow banks with a base in the UK to sell products and services to customers and financial markets across the EU, after Brexit.
According to Luxembourg’s commercial register, Airbnb Payments Luxembourg SA was registered on 4 January of this year, and focuses on the issue, acquisition, distribution and exchange of electronic money, and the provision of payment services.
"Citibank Eire" is a bit of a conundrum though, as that's not listed on the most recent register of Citigroup's "significant subsidiaries", which was posted on December 31, 2018, in accordance with SEC rules. That said, neither is Citibank Luxembourg, so it's quite possible the reason for that is that they were both created after the list was published. Seems a little incongruous that a non-native company would use the traditional Gaelic term "Éire" in its title though, regardless of whether it's based in Dublin or Luxembourg.
From one corporate tax haven, to another... Airbnb sure don't do things by halves when it comes to sheltering their profits.

I’m hosting less than 5 miles from their US headquarters and my payments have gone from next day arrival to 5-7 days. It’s untenable, and unconscionable for them to hold funds to make interest. The overdraft fees alone this week are killing me. What angers me is they thought they could make this change without creating serious hardship for all of us who built their business for them. I’m not sure why I wouldn’t revert to a long term rental where I can depend on a check on the first of the month, and leave the Airbnb business to all the corporate and wealthy landlords that have commercialized the whole product now anyway, robbing it of what made it cool in the first place. I’m here for bringing hotels and bed and breakfasts back.
