Welcome to hosting @Kim19 !  The guests don't pay you direct. When the guest books, they pay Airbnb, then Airbnb pays you (minus their fee) usually after the second day of the guests' stay. Check you have a payment method set up on on your account, and keep an eye on payments comng in. Happy hosting!

@Kim808 you made me chuckle, got a booking and don't know where your money comes from.

Click the 1st link for how to add a payout method and the 2nd link for when you will get paid by airbnb. Your guests have already paid airbnb and you get paid after they check in. Enjoy and have fun hosting.

Hi Kim and welcome to not just the community but to Airbnb hosting as well.

Mate, before you get too involved here with this hosting business there are some things you really need to know!

1/. What happens if a guest books and I can't have them stay? To start with, turn off Instant Book. you can do this by going to 'Booking Settings' and checking the first item which will say 'All guests must submit reservation request'! If you have a confirmed reservation, you must either honour that reservation or get Airbnb to cancel it for you. If you cancel the reservation yourself you will be penalised and the penalty will effect you for years to come....Don't Cancel!!!

2/. When will I get paid? As part of the listing process you would have been asked for a 'Payout Preference' and Airbnb would have deposited a small amount of money (3c) in that account to establish where the money goes when the time comes to be paid. If this has not happened go to your account settings and under 'Payout Preference' submit the banking details or the Paypal account you would like payments to go to.

In general Airbnb will release a guests payment to you 24 hours after the guest checks in but, or your first hosting it is just a bit different. You will be paid 30 days after your first reservation is accepted by you. So, if the booking is for 5 weeks away you will be paid 24 hours after the guest checks in. If the booking is for 10 days time, you will have to wait another 20 days to get paid. This is to make sure that the payout stream is correct and that you have sufficient time to make sure all your other listing settings are checked and are correct.

3/. What happens if I have a problem and need to speak to someone? Kim, put this number somewhere that you can access quickly if you need to. It is Airbnb's Sydney contact number....02 8520 3333

Kim, here is the link to Airbnb's community help guides. I strongly suggest you spend some time puttingh in things you are not sure of in the search bar and read up on aspects of hosting you are not sure of....

Kim, I wish you well but please don't think this business is a matter of hanging the Airbnb sign out and the money will come rolling in. It is a business and you need to know what you are doing or your hosting career will be a short and troubled one....All the best mate.

Cheers......Rob
