@Angela1056
Thank you so much for that Angela, your English is substantially better than my Italian, but provided I keep my text simple, Google Translate does a reasonable job!
We named our hosting cottage after an Italian exchange student, (Aurora Laccu) who we hosted here through the International Student Exchange program for 3 months in 2017.
Auri comes from Modena in the Bologna region, and she loved her 3 months here......many tears all round when we had to put her on a plane to go back to Italy. But she has been back here and stayed with us again since. Every time I walk out to the cottage I am reminded of the lovely people from Italy.
We can't wait until this virus is beaten and we can once again welcome international travelers. To beat COVID-19 you have to take drastic measures Angela, apart from one of our states we have managed the virus well here and we are now sharing the benefits of treating the virus seriously. Both first and second wave we have been able to control......
As opposed to Australia, look at how the USA has handled this pandemic.......
You cannot take shortcuts, the one thing this virus does extremely well is, jump from one human to another. If the whole of Europe closed it's borders and self isolated for 2 weeks, you would not have a virus problem, you would have it under control and life would return to normal! Once you contain community transmission the virus is not hard to keep under control.
Stay safe Angela, both Ade and I wish you a lovely winter festive season.
Spare a thought for us out here in the 38c heat we are probably going to get!!!!!!
Cheers........Rob
