Had guests book in this afternoon then had calls from neighbour complaining about a party. I turned up half past seven in evening and was horrified to see at least thirty people partying many of whom were taking drugs. A music system was there and strobe lights. I have tried to phone airbnb but been on hold for 40 minutes so far. Any idea how I can make a complaint please
I think you should call the police and send the police report to Airbnb if you came in question.
Five years hosting and I have three big red flags:
1) No last minute bookings
2) No locals (they are coming to party)
3) No discounts
I also do not take one nighters.
CALL THE POLICE. Worry about notifying Airbnb later!
I would call the police and make a report. Have the guest leave and have someone stay in the house all night. Continue to call Airbnb.
I assume you booted them out, so the ABB aspect can be dealt with in the review.
Was there any damage?
Every hosts nightmare! We always take the names of all guests booked to stay and in our house rules have ' only guests booked to stay allowed in apartment - No guests/friends/visitors at any time for any reason. ' All guests are directed to this rule and are asked to confirm that they have read it and that they agree to it before we accept their booking.
We also telll guests that we live ver close ( we do ! ) and that all our apartment neighbours have our phone number to call (they don't! ) should there be any noise nusiance.
Also , our advise to new hosts, I your gut says don't accept- then don't accept!
