I stayed at an airbnb with 3 other female friends in Saugatuck Michigan. On the morning we were to leave, we walked out of our room to find a strange man on our couch. Thankfully he was just drunk and harmless but things could have been worse. We called the cops and host and the host explained on his app it showed we locked the door at 8pm the previous night. The door was then “locked from the outside”, “unlocked from inside” and “locked from inside” all at the same time of 5:40am the next morning. The deadbolt on the door we found out was also faulty and didn’t actually latch. The lock system was OBVIOUSLY faulty or else someone wouldn’t have gotten in. The host and resolution center are refusing any sort of compensation because we don’t “qualify”. But if one of us were murdered, we would’ve qualified due to the faulty locks.
there was no signs of forcibly breaking in.
