Three days after checking out, and being given a full positive review, I received a damage claim from host for $1400 staying a chair had been scratched and needed to be replaced. I was only ever provided with two photos. One that didn’t show any damage at all, and the second showing a few scratches but with no scale or size or location. I disputed this, as all we did was sit in the chairs, and if a chair needs replacing after this and costs $1400, then it shouldn’t be in a place that is rented.
airbnb sent me communication that they agreed with me, and telling me I would NOT be charged. However, Airbnb then charged my credit card $200. I can not speak with anyone about this. Everyone I message or call says they are story, but they will get the right team to call me back. Which of course they don’t. I have put in a dispute for the charge with my bank. After 10 years of using Airbnb and having only positive reviews, I can’t believe Airbnb is supporting hosts in spurious and scam claims of damage.
