Host claims price should be higher right after confirming booking

Hi 🙂

I recently booked a listing and, within literal seconds of confirming the booking, the host claimed the price needs to be much higher! The host claimed that the higher price would be determined shortly. It is worthy to note that I had not asked for extra services nor spoken to the host about anything that might incur higher prices. Since then, over the course of 3 weeks, I have reached out to the host multiple times asking for the price and they have said that they will let me know by the end of the day. Obviously, they have not yet. My last message where I asked them to stop dragging me along and let me know about the higher price has gotten no reply.
 
At this point, I am worried about being scammed, like showing up at the booking and not being let in unless I pay a higher fee. I do no want to cancel now and lose my money and I do not want to show up and end up with no accommodation and ruin my trip. I am not sure how I can move forward with this.

@Aurora391 I think you should message Airbnb and ask them to confirm the booking and price are valid. You will, of course, have to explain the situation to them (concise bullet points probably best)

@Aurora391 The host is NOT ALLOWED to do this!! Contact AirBnB immediately and show them the communications with the host. The host should be removed from the platform. 

The things people will do for greed is unconscionable.
