Host increased price by over $3000 after the booking was confirmed and money paid.

I am not sure what my rights are. I paid and booked and got the confirmation email. The next day the host said there was some problem with Airbnb and the price is wrong. I then got another email to accept or decline paying an additional $3055.

What happens if I decline?

Useally a booking is final. The host is responsible for setting up the right pricing in the listing.

unless there is a technical error (to be investigated by Airbnb).

If you decline, you risk the host will cancel the reservation (You will have full refund, but the host will be penalised). I would certainly not accept. The host should make more clear what went wrong.

If it is simply stupidity from the host side (not updated listing with correct prices), then contact Airbnb about behaviour of the host and how it can be resolved.
