get more bookings in slow season

get more bookings in slow season

My name is Scott, I have barndominium in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that we rent out. It does well in the winter for snowmobiling, fall for the colors, and in the summer. But, there are about 3-4 months out of the year where the weather is not great and it is transitioning from cold to hot, (or hot to cold) how may I get more bookings in the tougher times? Thanks

Hi @Scott2012 Attracting more guests to your Airbnb during transitional seasons can be challenging. You may consider the following that may help you get more bookings or improve your occupancies.

-Offer discounts or special rates for guests who book during these slower months. This can be an effective way to attract budget-conscious travelers.

-Emphasize the indoor amenities of your property. If you have a cozy fireplace, a well-stocked library, board games, a home theater system, or a hot tub, make sure these features are prominently displayed in your listing. These amenities can be particularly appealing during colder or unpredictable weather.

-Research and promote local events or attractions that occur during these months. This could include festivals, concerts, museum exhibits, or indoor markets. Updating your listing or creating a guidebook with this information can attract guests interested in these events.

-Update your Airbnb listing with high-quality, seasonal photos and a detailed description that highlights how your space is perfect for the specific time of year. Make sure your listing is as attractive and inviting as possible.

-Encourage guests to leave reviews, especially those who stay during the off-peak months. Positive reviews can significantly influence potential guests. Hope this helps!
