How many essentials do you provide and does it vary based on number of nights?

In our 3 BD 1 BA home we typically provide 2 dishwasher pods, 2 washing machine pods, 2 paper towels and 2 rolls of TP per bathroom. I recently had a guest staying for 7 nights ask us to bring more TP and dishwasher pods. We did but I've stayed at many Airbnb's and I've never asked the host to do this even for longer stays. I should also mention this is a small bungalo in a urban neighborhood so most guests don't do alot of cooking or cleaning. Is there a  standard quantity? 2 rolls per two nights?

@Shannon1151 we always left enough dishwasher pods, washing liquid, toilet paper etc for the guest's whole stay.

Reasons:

I get really annoyed when travelling if I have to buy a whole packet of dishwasher tablets when I only need a couple.

Dishwasher tablets are cheap (when bought in bulk)

Any supplies that ensure the dishes are properly washed are well worth leaving. Same goes for bin bags etc.

Anything less feels cheap even when guests are only paying £50 per night.

Hi @Shannon1151! 👋

Hope your week is going well! I'm happy to see that you offer so many essentials to guests. I'm sure they feel like they are at home!

If it's with them, I'm going to tag a few other members to see what do they think about this situation: @Kate2192@Kenchy0 and @Anton7298. 🙂

Hope this helps and have a lovely that.

Hello @Shannon1151

The cost of NOT providing enough TP or basic amenities will cost you so much more in 3* and 4* reviews than the cost of providing more than what you're currently offering.

Definitely agree with @Mike-And-Jane0 post and I find it annoying to have to buy big bags of dishwasher tabs etc for a few nights.  You want your guests to feel that you have thought of their needs before they even have to ask.  Guests expect more rather than less these days😉

It's amazing how many guests moan about not having enough TP in reviews and equally amazing how many they need but when you break it down to how much a pack costs, it's nothing compared to what we are charging per night.  You might need to increase your price by a few $$ to incorporate the extra cost but in my mind it's worth it.

For stays longer than 5/6 days, you can mention that they might run out of a few things and the distance to the nearest supermarket😉  I just leave a bag of dishwasher and washing machine tablets 1/4 full and lots of other basic amenities that I wouldn't like to buy as a guest just passing by.
