I am in the process of building an Air BnB wing as part of building my residential home. I am getting a loan to cover the building cost of the Air BnB wing while the rest of the house would be mortgage free. Realize that I could claim a raft of expenses. However would I be able to claim the entire loan interest relating to the Air BnB wing as the rest of the home would be mortgage free? My rental rate would exceed NZ$ 50/room, so I would be on claiming on actual expenditure. Appreciate your thoughts on this.
