Hi everyone,
We have created a dedicated space in our Community Centre for Airbnb.org.
How Airbnb.org was established
In 2012, a Host reached out to Airbnb asking if she could offer her place for free to people who had to evacuate New York City when it was hit by Hurricane Sandy. In 2015, Hosts opened their doors to help those affected by the Nepal earthquake and the Pulse nightclub shooting. In 2020, Hosts provided housing for healthcare workers and first responders on the frontline of the pandemic.
There are many more events that I didn’t list where Hosts, in incredibly selfless acts, opened their doors to help those in need. This led Airbnb to establishing Airbnb.org, an independent nonprofit organisation dedicated to unlocking the power of sharing space, resources, and support in times of need.
Why we created this board
We created a dedicated board for Airbnb.org so people can quickly see what they can do to help, and to ask any questions or share experiences about getting involved with Airbnb.org. Whether that be about current, past, or future events.
