All Hosts with listings in the US and Canada can now connect compatible smart locks to those listings.
Since rolling out this feature in March, we’ve added locks from August and Yale to the initial lineup of compatible models from Schlage. We’ve also expanded its availability to Hosts with more than six listings.
When you connect a smart lock, guests automatically receive a unique code that’s only active during their stay. You don’t have to change the code yourself between bookings.
Connecting a lock to your listing also lets you:
You’ll find a list of compatible locks on the Resource Center, along with tips for connecting one to your listing.
This is fantastic!! I love this feature for my hosting business!
Thanks @Karen1100, glad to hear you're loving these new features!
How do you usually go on with check-in process with your guests? Which smart lock do you prefer for a smooth check-in process? What has been your experience so far?
When is it going to be available for the Dominican Republic?
Hi @Charlie597 , we don’t have further news to share on the expansion to new countries, but we’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
Great feature, I am sure the re3st of the world would like to have this too, so what is the rollout plan please? I live in the UK.
Hi @Neil763 , at the moment, we don’t have further news to share on the roll out plan to new countries, but we’ll surely keep our Host community posted if there are further updates to share.
@Airbnb do you know if there is a plan to include Kwikset Smart Locks in the future?
Hi @Austin469 , at the moment, Airbnb has partnered with three of the biggest smart lock providers in the U.S. and Canada— Schlage, Yale, and August—to integrate their products into Airbnb platform. However, we'll keep our Community posted if there are any updates with the product range.
What a fantastic feature ! Hope we'll have this available soon in South Africa . I'll look into the possibilities
Thanks @Linda-and-Peter0 ! We'll keep you posted if there are such possibilities 😉
Thanks for building this feature and so glad I no longer have to use Yale's own solution with the message that goes out immediately after a booking is made and that you can't even edit(!).
The new integration seems to default to a 4-digit code. I can't seem to find anywhere to change this setting. I would prefer to set 6-digit codes. Is that possible?
