Adding more text to "About" section of my listing

I'm a new host on Airbnb.  I want to add more to the initial "About" section that introduces my property.  I am limited to only 500 words currently.  Will this increase over time or how can I add more than 500 words please??

thank you.

Hello @Tessy19

It's under Listing basics:

==>Listing description EDIT

There you'll find Listing description, the space etc but you need to scroll all the way down to press SAVE!!  This is a really big section and that SAVE button is not easy to see.  Luckily you saved the info on another template😉

All the best

Joëlle

@Tessy19 - welcome to hosting.  Spend ten minutes here and you'll find out that most guests don't read.  So if they won't read 500 words (and most won't), they won't read 1,000.

Try bullet points.

 How do I get back to these sections please?

"The space", "Guest access", "Interaction with guests", and "Other details to note"

I had filled them in but seems I need to again??...

Hello @Tessy19 and welcome!

In host mode go onto:

==>Listing

==>Listing basics EDIT

and then you'll see lots of subheadings that you can fill in like:

==>The space

==>Amenities

==>Location etc

Don't forget the house rules section and as @Ann72 quite rightly says, use bullet points to highlight what makes your place special or practical for example.  I've used this method on my listing if you want to have a look and imagine that Anne has too.

There's a lot to learn at the beginning so make sure you're ready before you go live and Airbnb automatically puts new listings on an Instant Book basis so if this makes you nervous you can remove this and select " request to book".   Read up on as much as you can on internet but also on the CC (community centre) and you'll always find someone ready to help you out here😊

All the best

Joëlle

I had already put in more information about our property in "The space", "Guest access", "Interaction with guests", and "Other details to note" sections using my laptop.  But now when I look at my posting on my phone, nothing is in those...

And now I don't see how to get back to them on my laptop to see what I had put in before.

I had saved all this so trying not to rewrite it.  Finding this very frustrating.  Seems I need to redo steps again??

Thank you for any help you can provide.

@Tessy19  There are 3 sections were you can convey to the guest all information about your place:

1. Listing Description - short synopsis (romance copy), 500 word limit.

2. The Space - where you can go into further detail, no word limit.

3. Other Things to Note - where you can enter even more specific information, no word limit.

Mercifully, Airbnb only allows 500 words (which prevents a wall of text) in that first 'Listing Description', which perhaps should be called 'Introduction'.

I don't seem to be able to find sections I had filled in before...

 "The space", "Guest access", "Interaction with guests", and "Other details to note" sections.

How to access?

Really? I thought I saved each little piece. OK I’ll try again. Thank you for the guidance. Frustrating to start this thing compared to the competition.
I appreciate your help.

Hi @Tessy19 Adding information to these other sections seems like a great way to provide more specific details about the listing. Let us know if you decide to give this a try, @Tessy19 😊

@Fred13 @Joelle43 and @Ann72 Thank you so much for coming to help @Tessy19  👏
