Airbnb support can't be trusted

I am experiencing a listing issue for over two months and would like to escalate my case to specialist or supervisor, but over two months nearly hundreds of calls, without any follow-up or update about fixing this Airbnb system glitch, the support personnel only read their scripts and replied same will will will, then they disappeared when you call again same loop repeat, no one can trust include who present as a supervisor, I lost my renting over two months.

Hi @Josh2222

We are a community of hosts - if the issue with the listing is something that you think we could perhaps help you fix, you can describe it here in detail.

The details was repeated hundreds times, there was an Airbnb system issue 'glitch' that Airbnb supporting named, City autherized short-term permission was submitted to Airbnb, but system still shows pending doesn't allows less than 28 days rental since April 2004.

Airbnb supporting doesn't read the details and repeat same script words, 'forwarded', 'escalated' then will follow up and contact within 3 hours, 6,12,24,72 hours or 7 days ... but never heard back from Airbnb, when I calk again then get into same loop.

Clearly the city issued short-term permission works for another listing without pending also works on Vibo.

This issue repeated and stays since April over 3 months, who can I trust and how I can track or escalate this issue, who response my business loss???

Days and Months have past still no response nor follow-up from Airbnb support,

What's happened to Airbnb support?

A short-term license was issued by the city, and submitted to Airbnb, but the system shows 'pending' to WHAT? since April 2024.

The same license works for another listing and also works on Vibo.

@Josh2222 The screenshot makes it look as if the license is pending approval by the city, not AirBnB. It says a city official will review your updated registration and approve or deny it.

How does AirBnB figure into this other than to change the status once the city approves it? Has the city approved it? If it's still pending with the city, then AirBnB can't do anything.

I feel like there is some missing information here.

Again, Check your Airbnb system, same registration works for same address listing on Airbnb and on Vibo, as well every year before, it's not address issue and this was discussed and tried two months ago.

It's something only the City of Toronto STR office can help you with.

Had a similar issue awhile ago, with the 'Pending License Approval' and I had to go there to get it sorted.

Please read!!!!!

Registration license has been issued by the city and submitted to Airbnb, but the Airbnb system shows 'pending' to WHAT???

The same license works for another listing and Vibo.

What it's saying on the screen is a bit confusing but it's correct. Your STR is on a backlog to be reviewed by City of Toronto STR department.

This could be triggered for any number of reasons.

You could potentially get answers with more details if you join the Facebook Toronto Airbnb Host Community. Because most if not all people in there are actually located in Toronto.

Once again, the same registration license works in Airbnb for another listing with the same address, without any work or any change on the City, it works on Vrbo.

This Airbnb system glitch has been repeatedly confirmed by Airbnb personal, do you think they are all **lacking in knowledge in the past days?

It doesn't matter if the license works for another listing. When I said I encountered something similar, I mean it literally.

I have 3 listings. All 3 use the same license and is at the same address. One of them randomly got that 'License needs Approval' message.

City of Toronto STR department is (potentially) able to get rid of this message, Airbnb can't. When I say potentially - this means that City of Toronto STR has the final say on whether or not the license is valid for that STR.

Also, Airbnb support is often working remote and overseas, so there's no way they know about Toronto STR bylaws.

It doesn't matter clearly this is an Airbnb system bug, and followed up with Airbnb tech team for fix, I am waiting for resolve this issue at Airbnb system.

City was angry and repeated they have done their work and nothing pending on them.
