Early Check Out

My guest booked for 30 nights. He randomly messaged me this morning at 11:30 saying his work schedule changed and he is now back in Florida and needs to change his reservations. How would/should I go about this? he is checking out 10 days earlier than he was supposed to.

@Savanna135 Wouldn’t it depend on your cancellation terms?

@Savanna135

This sometimes happens in contract work and the contracts  know it..  Logically a  company big enough to pay someone to come to another state doesn't just change their  mind  with  no  notice.

Word would get  around and nobody takes a contract from a  company that  burns employees.  So  either he knew or he did something an the company is releasing   because he  did something.  I  have had  this once with 20  days left.   i  told him  he would have to cancel  but if  I    reboooked the room  I  would give  him a partial  refund.    I    got some people so he  got about 10 days refunded..

Also  to  be  aware of  with  contract employees  sometimes they  book  30  days when they  know only 20 days  needed because you  have  a  monthly discount.    So   make sure  if you do  refund do  it at  the discounted  price

Hi @Savanna135, I hope you are doing well.

I was wondering whether you were able to solve everything with your guest? It would be great if you could share which actions you have taken.

I would assume you aren't responsible to compensate him.

after letting him know he would need to change it on his end he was perfectly okay with it and went through the process and cancelled his reservation and everything is now resolved!
