We have been a host for seven months.  Very pleased with Airbnb, we just purchased the house next to us and planning to have it ready for Airbnb in May. Is there any way I can promote for larger groups before May?

@Rick4126  Not sure if I understand your question, but you can list it and block all the calendar dates up to May.  But a consideration is that renos often take longer than anticipated, so you don't  want to get into a situation where you have bookings that need to be cancelled because the place isn't ready yet.

If it isn't guest-ready, it would be difficult to have a photo gallery (and guests book to a large extent based on the photos) that does it justice.
