Time Shares

Hi

New host. Almost. I am trying to list unused weeks at our timeshare. When I set up a listing, I am asked to provide proof of address. (Utility bill, etc) we don’t have anything like that. Only a reservation confirmation which shows the address and dates. Keeps getting rejected.  Anyone have any advice?

I had a guy who was trying to do this recently ask me for assistance. It’s tough because most time shares, if not openly and in writing against it are not welcoming to the idea. Time share owners are not “owners.” They are, at best, minor shareholders.

The guy I was talking to was massively hustled. He was convinced that a $200 a night room was worth $2000 a night. Because the timeshare sales person told him it was worth $2000 per night but a quick look at comparable accommodations on Airbnb showed it rented for $200 per night.

I told the guy to call an attorney that specialises in getting people out of timeshare contracts. The are a lot of attorneys that specialises in this field of law.

That’s the advice, I’d give to you;

“Call an attorney who specializes in getting people out of thier timeshare contract.”

@Mike2577   Does your timeshare company allow for AirBnB rentals?  If they do, perhaps your timeshare agreement would be accepted by AirBnB as proof of accommodation.  Quite honestly, if you are trying to rent your timeshare, perhaps going through the timeshare company would be best.

Hi

They do allow it. In fact they encourage it. Thanks for the suggestion. I will try that. Will have to dig it up. Appreciate the response!
