Guests certainly do not appreciate the damage a 4 star can cause I had 4 star on VALUE but his review was really really nice !!
Ski condo - busy ski days busiest week of the season. My price was certainly reasonable even low because I had had a cancellation just before him.
Of course one would want cheaper. But this is really being held against me this time.
What should I do. Airbnb suggested messaging the guest and ask him to repeal whole review with star rating?? Is this the only way to go

I always include a request for 5 stars in my check-out message.
You can write your own and remind guests that anything below 5 stars drops your rating, which you work hard for. You can also let them know that your home is priced below market value, and that your amenities make your home better than others that cost the same. Include any information that you feel would make a difference in their judgement when it comes time to leave a review.
Best of luck!
@Merrily2 All your response, to what is an excellent review, does is draw attention to someone thinking (but not saying) the price is too high. I really despair when hosts do this.
I would worry far more about a 4 for cleanliness than one for value. I am sure guests will decide for themselves if the price is reasonable or not.

great idea thank you very much. I usually try to let guests know exactly what might be wrong but I guess they dont realize just how harmful a low star may mean.
I m going to change my good bye messages to explain the value of stars.**
I COULD NOT IN GOOD CONSCIENCE”ASK” FOR A 5 REVIEW, I MAKE MY HOME THEIR HOME IF THEY DONT THINK ITS A GOOD VALUE , THEN THEY NEED NOT RETURN , I HAVE HAD SOME UNREALISTIC GUESTS THO VERY FAR AND FEW BETWEEN , I DO THE BEST I CAN ,I DONT “WORRY” ABOUT 5 VS 4 AND IM PRETTY CLEAR ABOUT ONLY ACCEPTING THEM BASED ON THEIR REVIEWS - IM ALSO VERY CLEAR AS TO THE AGE AND “CULTURE OF THE HOME AND ITS SURROUNDINGS .
@Cristina860 ASKING for a 5* review makes a mockery of the whole system. I would never ASK a guest for a 5* review.
I stayed at an AirBnB twice this summer, and the host asked about 5 times during the stay for 5* reviews. It was too much, and I resented it. If it was a 5*experience, you'll get 5 stars. There are always those who will find a problem no matter what, and none of your explanations about reviews will do any good.
The host where I stayed twice this summer did not get a review from me, because it wasn't a 5* stay, and I couldn't leave a 5* review in good conscience. Long story short, I think it's a very bad practice, and likely to end poorly. It's certainly poor advice to give to @Merrily2
That's the great thing about ABNB - hosts can decide how they market to and interact with their guests, and guests still have a say in what their reviews include.
I've had success with the way I phrase my messages regarding 5-star reviews, so I'm speaking from my own experience.
It sounds like your experience was the opposite from mine, @Kia272. No need to denigrate advice on a community forum if you don't agree with it.
@Cristina860 What I've done is express my opinion, which happens to differ from yours. If you choose to see that difference of opinion as denigrating your opinion, so be it.
Thanks for that I usually try to mention EVERYTHING that would be a problem
