In response to Airbnb Founders message regarding 100% refunds:

Airbnb Founders,

Guests need to be partially responsible for the losses from their cancellations. These are primarily people spending discretionary income for non-essential getaways. Hosts are not all deep-pocketed real estate tycoons. The revenue I get from my rental is used to pay for my basic necessities. Without it I am in trouble. I don’t know how I will pay my mortgage now! When I set my refund policy, I meant it. If I had known you would or could override my refund policies for my property, I never would have done business with Airbnb.

AirBnb cannot unilaterally change the cancellation policy and expect hosts to bear the brunt of this crisis. Travel insurance was developed to mitigate the risks for guests and this should be the policy for AirBnb..  Guests should contact their travel insurance for refunds. As hosts we can accommodate guests at a later date, if the circumstances are genuine but that should be the hosts discretion. Each AirBnb has their own cancellation policies and these should override any new policies AirBnb creates. I imagine AirBnb will be receiving a lawsuit very soon from a wide number of hosts as this is not acceptable

Yes i agree.. there should be a lawsuit becaus ethey discrimiate alwaysaginst the host always  ....let me know if there is one...at least give at least 50 pertcent of the funds not 25 percent

yes I agree they always  favor the guest   >> I ws a super host until I was recently informed I wanst so Now I dont qualify for their 5000 dollars...the can manipulate the system....its ridiculouse we all should get our refund money 25 percent does not cut it... They have made money off od us... we take the risks... I mea even when people request to stay one cant seee the photo of the person until we accepts them this is so biased...i was a super host and too airbnb convenience all of a sudden i am not since january they say....which is bull**bleep**,,they say they have 5000 for super hosts however they are changing one listing to reflect one isnt this is a scam
