Superhost Grants Leave Hosts Behind

Superhost Grants Leave Hosts Behind

So we just got the email about superhost grants, and it's all well and good. I applaud AirBnB for trying to do something. That said, first thing we did was to look at the eligibility requirements, and lo and behold, we're screwed again. This is for hosts with no more than two active listings, even though we're renting out part of our own home (3 rooms in total).

This was a huge chunk of our monthly income used to cover the mortgage and utilities. Thank you, AirBnB for leaving us high and dry.

Hi Edmund,

Where did you hear that 30K thing? That is not even my yearly revenue from 2 listings after being a Superhost for 5 years in Hungary.

Anyway, the whole program (the company, their support, the attitude towards hosts who wanted to get some answers for 2 months) is a huge disappointment with all the false policies and fake news they announce as a pr stunt. Shame on airbnb for doing that to the hosts.

Very disappointing isn't it.  They're obviously looking after the people who need it the least.  What a sham!  They shouldn't have raised everybody's hopes in the first place.

I only have 1 property and have been a host for 9 years and still nothing.  Even if you qualify, it seems it is the luck of the drawer if you get picked.

Yes, a bit like their one-to-one online survey too!

Devastating to wave hope ...

Brian Chesky has a personal wealth of over $4 billion as a result of hosts generosity for opening our doors to strangers. A company that has any integrity, the CEO and Board of Directors would put their hands in their own pockets to support the business, employees and associates if they want longevity. Hosts are associates and guests are customers. They helped all their customers but not all their associates. Therefore Airbnb should award free shares to all their associates when they float the company on the stock exchange to compensate for hosts losses. Why weren't we covered by there insurance? You can bet that Airbnb have put in a claim from their own insurance!

I remember reading an interview for Chesky, whereby they asked him who he sought advice from for the idea...he stated is Mother and Grandfather - the latter being an advocate. His Grandfather wouldn't be so proud now!

Don't forget Brian - the world is watching and that means not only the investors but your hosts too. If you continue to screw us over we'll vote by closing our accounts!
