Airbnb Fee Refund Policy Should Be The Same As Host Refund Policy

Airbnb's fee refund policy is too complicated for guests.  Too often I as a host give a full refund for a cancellation but then shortly after guests find out they didn't get a full refund because their Airbnb fee was not refunded.  Why doesn't Airbnb just adopt the same refund policy as the host?

  1. If a host is flexible then Airbnb fee should be flexible!
  2. If a host is strict then Airbnb fee should be strict!
  3. And so on ....

I have way too many guests that get upset about this!  I try to explain it to them but in the end, they feel like we are ripping them off!  Airbnb ... please help with this ... it's just too complicated, especially during these Covid-19 times. Airbnb should not be collecting fees for a canceled appointment that meets the host's cancellation requirement!  If my policy allows them to cancel and get a full refund Airbnb should give a full refund o fthe fee too!

I hope this idea helps!

The typical thing that nowadays people don't like to read to what they agreed to.

If this is to complicated for people then I would better insist in a better education system.

Airbnb has no intention of forfeiting their fees...... hosts can choose to refund if we want to..... Airbnb doesn't care. If guests feel like *hosts* are ripping them off, so be it..... Airbnb doesn't care. Airbnb will still collect their fees and make money.

While I personally think Airbnb should (and could) do a better job educating guests....... there are some types of people who just DON'T BOTHER TO READ ANYTHING before clicking "I agree".... it's just as much their fault for not reading the fine print. They can go complain to Airbnb about Airbnb service fees - as a host, I have no reason to put up with complaints about fees because fees are not my problem~
