Airbnb is not a good business partner! I reached out to Airbnb on August 6 because I noticed that I have a 15% cancellation rate on my super host status. I did not understand this because I helped a guest cancel the reservation in April during the pandemic. Since it was in the allowable timeframe through our discussions you can see that I tell her I will cancel it for her. Airbnb has now docked me 15% for my first cancellation in three years and my only cancellation. I reached out to them on August 6 to get this corrected I was told by the guy they would be in touch within 48 hours on August 10 after not hearing from them Yet again I decided to call on August 13… This is my business partner I am trying to get a response from… Again my business partner! Absolutely the worst partner you could have I still haven’t heard from them. I still have a basically 15% penalty on my super host now for the cancellation during a pandemic that was during the timeframe that it was allowed to cancel. It’s unacceptable to me that a business partner involved in our livelihoods does not have to respond to us with any timeframe… I know that we as host have 24 hours to get back to our guest or Airbnb feels it’s right to punish us… But Airbnb hasn’t responded to me since August 6 and that’s OK? Our business partner has a double standard one for them and one for us. At this point I don’t know if we’re going to stay with Airbnb after this situation we are not open right now and we are not opening until we can hear back from them. Airbnb Hass to be the worst business partner where you are responsible for everything and they are responsible for nothing! I’m so disappointed in this company and cannot believe to this day no one has gotten back to me yet! Really really crappy
@Angie187 While I totally sympathize with your sentiments and the abysmal customer service, Airbnb is not your business partner. They are listing platform. They really don't care about their hosts, they care about their profits.
@Angie187 For some reason the word bipolar comes to mind when I think of a lot of today's tech companies, they are that much all over the place. One minute they sound like social crusaders, another like strict capitalists. Perhaps best to focus on your own 'world' and depend only in what others do rather than what they say.
