I removed IB just before the new roleout and did it because of a scary event that was a close call for me and my property . I came to fully understand how much control and self protection is forfeited with IB. And developed my own protocols of questions and qualifying criteria I require to approve a guest.
My business is solely devoted to Monthly stays (31) days for solo travel workers. The winter release crashed my traffic the first quarter of the new year when ABB totally removed the Monthly Stay Places platform. But I worked to overcome this handicap with retooling my listings to make them standout for what they are about and was doing OK. Then this summer roleout AI takeover of the platform has thrown a new form of chaos when it disappeared one of my guesthouses completely.
But I got lucky and a guest input for 3 months the exact dates of vacancy on that unit and it came up , I screened him and qualified him and all good.
So the myth that IB gets you more traffic and business is a false reuse. This latest reservation proves it for me as he is the same crowd of professional solo travel worker I am accustomed to serving.
But the saga continues. Two days ago I at 2:30 am I got messaged from ABB that said I have one unit set for Pets Allowed and why not add the other unit to that opportunity?
I did not set Pets Allowed, I never allow pets-- the AI did this all by itself. I believe the bot read the words dogs and cats in my text details and decided to click Pets Allowed.
That is my guess. I deleted those words and changed the setting. Dodged another bullet.
