Dear Guests, Travelers, Consumers
(Purchasers of time and space accommodations
on the Airbnb platform) & host community.
The Airbnb Review System’s ‘creative-writing, public-statement section’:
1. Encourages the seller to make false public statements against the consumer, slippery slander, creative defamation of character, frequently based on sellers’ false expectations, lack of qualifications, training, education and experience regarding health, safety during stay, and accommodation standards turnover.
2. Encourages Seller-Authors to vent, retaliate, intimidate, and use this section as a weapon of expression against the consumer.
3. Authors representing the seller use the creative writing section as a public smear campaign when there are encounters, requests, conflicts, and protests between consumer and seller’s beliefs in health and safety.
4. Is unfairly governed and poorly managed by the parent company Airbnb.
SUGGESTIONS FOR REVAMPING the AIRBNB REVIEW SYSTEM
and its INTERNAL-INTERPRETATION PANEL.
AIRBNB:
1. Eliminate the creative writing section for the seller to vent on the consumer.
2. Outsource Airbnb's own verbiage interpretation, (verbiage judging opinion) team-panel to independent third parties.
(The Review System verbiage interpreting panel and judgment team must be detached from AIRBNB employees, contractor staff, seller-representation, internal politics and be an independent, unbiased third-party)
3. Require Airbnb employees to have multiple guest consumer experience, long-term and short term stay before qualifying for oversight, policy writing, policy interpreting and verbiage policing interpretation authored by hosts.
4. Train Airbnb employees to actively police for verbiage that hints at sellers escape of responsibility, retaliation, character defamation, slander, false statements and unfair criticism toward consumers for personal health and safety beliefs.
5. Airbnb panel Not be allowed to remove and repost public statements against the consumer, in favor of internal politics and host representation.
SELLER-AUTHOR (HOST):
1. No longer have a section to write public statements against the consumer.
2. Disclose in sellers advertised listing if they are do-it-themselves cleaners or use licensed professionals.
3. Disclose in any fictitious creative writing review against a consumer, the Author’s individual name, position, and relationship to dwelling accommodations weather ownership, rental, sub-lessor, landlord, cleaning helper, friend, relative, neighbor, individual spouse,
4. Have multiple long-term stays before qualifying to advertise and sell space for long periods of time to consumers.
5. Be business licensed
6. Use licensed cleaning companies for turnover.
7. Take, pass online credit hours for cleaning, turn-over, expectation, running a business, how to communicate to a consumer during and after, liability.
8. Take and pass online credit hours annually in health hospitality, check out accommodation turn over education, before qualifying to host.
9. Be educated by Airbnb in how to write a review, what is inappropriate, unfair, what are their in-house terms, etc.
CONCLUSIONS
(Airbnb Public Statement Review System Faults)
1. It enables, encourages, and protects public slander, defamation of character, false statements, irrelevancy, gossip, prejudice and discrimination.
2. Puts consumers in compromising positions.
3. Is used to intimidate the consumer.
4. Is unfairly policed by the governing body Airbnb, in favor of representing the host.
5. Encourages online bullying. Damages reputation.
6. Sellers are more empowered to bully the consumer and supported by Airbnb.
7. The creative writing section in the review system does far more harm than good, particularly in a time of a pandemic.
8. Consumers are put on public display if they conflict with seller.
9. Slander reviews from sellers consistently come out because of false expectations in cleaning, turn over and the consumer after checking out.
10. Airbnb review system must be independent and detached from its host community interpretation of verbiage authoring decisions.
11. Airbnb must revamp its review system and police for and remove the extreme potential for slander criticism, untruth, retaliation over check out conflict.
12. There is too much leeway for seller’s false statements and unfair attack and unfair pressure on the consumer because of Airbnb’s lack of host education, health education, turnover and cleanliness expectation, inexperienced hosts, mixed with AIRBNB’s biased and lenient review system.
13. There's too much opportunity for character defamation against the consumer post checkout.
14. Airbnb cannot be allowed by internal politics to put back up and post a violation of terms review, slander, defamation of character, after it has taken them down.
Airbnb must have a higher authority to discourage internal staff politics staff to use verbiage and slanderous review to control and reprimand the consumer and overreach its representation of the seller.
15. The public statement section of the Airbnb is used as a careless tool, when the consumer has encountered and protested conflicting beliefs in health and safety with the seller.
16. The section is used carelessly, because the inexperienced seller expects the consumer to turn over the property and have it ready for the next guest.
17. The damage done from creative public slander enabled and protected on Airbnb platform range from damage to character reputation, seller prejudice, and emotional trauma to consumer.
Disclosure
I use and have used Airbnb full-time, consecutively, for hundreds of long-term stay transactions. I appreciate Airbnb, concept, and hosts. I’m not an attorney. Please speak up and do your part for policy change.
Again???
Are you expecting to get different feedback to the three (or more?) posts you have already created on the subject? All you are doing is proving that the host's review of you was likely very accurate.
@Matt434 Why do you keep posting this stuff and never engage with anyone who replies?
These ideas are unworkable. Having a third party vet reviews is silly, a third party has no idea and no way to know whether the guest or the host is being truthful or not. There are already rules on character assassination and discrimination.
Quite frankly, if you want a situation where the host's viewpoint and rules about cleaning don't count, then you should stay in hotels or an apartment where there is no expectation about the guest behavior other than to follow the laws.
If you want a housing situation where there is no review process, those exist in the hundreds of thousands--hotels or a long term lease.
@Matt434 If you delete your account the review the host left you will magically disappear. Frankly you don't need an account as you are a prime candidate for the 'better suited to a hotel' label.
Obsessive-compulsive troll.
