Am I missing something here?

I contacted an airbnb host with 0 reviews and ratings about 1 month+ stay. We settled on a price and check in on December 15-January 15.

 

He then sent the special booking request for December 13-January 13 (not December 15) saying that it is because his calendar is synced with the cleaning company (??). I asked if I can check in on December 13 and he said no, only December 14 evening. 

 

1 month of airbnb costs already taken out of my account when I accepted his booking request a few days ago. Airbnb support is not really of much help at all.

 

Is there anything I should worry about? I assume if I check in on Dec 14 and things are not what it seem I can get the money taken out of my account fully refunded.

Wrong. It's a long term booking. Tead the cancellation policy. You will lose the entire month's rent. 

 

Yes, you have a lot to worry about. This host has no idea what he's doing. The dates on your booking need to be the exact dates you check in and out. 

 

That means you check in on Dec. 13 and check out on Jan. 13. He can't send you a booking for the 13th and tell you that you can't check in until the 14th. He shoukdn't have open dates on his calendar that aren't available to book. You never should have accepted his special offer.

 

You say Airbnb support hasn't been much help, and that's not surprising, but you need to pursue this. I would not want to stay there at all, myself.
