Happy New Year to everyone.
I see the new amenity list and was thrilled to see this option for parking...... I host in a busy downtown area and am one of the rare hosts who offer on-premise (underground, secure, assigned) parking and have always felt airbnb did not properly allow me to highlight it.
But I am a PLUS listing and am so disappointed to discover that I do not have access to the same amenity list that non-PLUS listings have. My amenity list does not offer me the opportunity to note that I have on-premise RESIDENTIAL or GARAGE parking. See the NON Plus listing graphic.
Feels like being a Plus listing just continues to diminish in value.
Also, I am wondering what airbnb considers Garage vs Residential parking.
Thanks! Gail
Hi @Gail33 - thank you very much for writing in.
We are aware of the amenity discrepancies between Marketplace, Plus, and Luxe, and we have a team actively working on creating alignment between the three. We'll follow up with you here when the update rolls out, and in the meantime, feel free to mention your parking option in your listing description. As someone who lives in an urban area as well - parking is a significant value add!
Regarding "Parking Garage" vs "Residential Garage" - I'm not totally sure what the difference is, but I've shot a note out to the proper team for clarification. My guess is that parking garage is open to the public, whereas residential garage is only for members of that residential community.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks for the quick response Clay. It still is a bit sad that PLUS listing are less important for updates.
PLEASE, PLEASE encourage your team to be clear with parking. I have an underground, secure, on-premise, assigned parking space included in my rates. Everyone else in my city uses "close by" public (some enclosed, some open lots) and claims Free On-premise parking. This is a huge difference. Especially when it is 10 degrees and snowy! Sorry....it has been a "hurt point" for me for 5 years.
I do note my amazing parking spot in my description. But we ALL KNOW THAT THE MAJORITY OF GUESTS DO NOT READ! Sigh....
Have a good day!
Mark,
Still waiting to see what is meant by Parking Garage vs Residential Garage. And if you and I don't know the difference, how will thousands of guests?
Thanks,
Gail
Hello everyone,
I host in a very desirable beachfront area at the Hotel Zone in Cancun; unfortunately, Plus listings don't have Beachfront as an option in the amenities list.
This is very frustrating as my property is not showing in the results for the main amenity guests are looking for when traveling to the beach. The word Beachfront is in the title of my listing and the property description, but this doesn't help as my property is no showing in those results, which is a serious disadvantage.
@Clay, please advise on this
Thanks!
Ivette
Yes, very frustrating. One would expect that PLUS listings would be prioritized rather than playing catch-up. When NON-PLUS listing hosts ask me about becoming a PLUS listing, I have added the fact that we are "not prioritized" as yet another negative. I am closer to delisting my PLUS status than ever before.
It does seem like this program was a bomb for Airbnb and they now don't know how to move forward. I would love to hear that either they are discontinuing it or have a strategy to move forward. One way or the other.
Hi @Ivette57 and @Gail33 - we have tickets for our engineering team in the system relating to amenity alignment across the various listing tiers on Airbnb. I don't have an estimate on when that ticket will be addressed, but as mentioned, I'll follow up when I do.
Gail - regarding the additional amenity specificity for parking - the further granularity is not available in guest search, meaning that guests can only filter on "Free Parking," which will return Plus and non-Plus listings alike. But I fully agree that you should be able to provide further specificity. The updates amenities lists were rolled out to non-Plus listings first, but this will be fixed.
Hi @Clay
Any news regarding amenities alignment between Marketplace, Plus, and Luxe?
I was hoping this would be one of the improvements that Airbnb was working on.
Very disappointed, especially due to the announcement of the filter bar as one of the improvements!
Still not available for Plus to include Beachfront in amenities, this is a disadvantage for our listings, as this is one of the most desirable amenities when travelling to a beach destination.
Hi @Ivette57 - we are currently undergoing our planning process for the second half of the year, and this work (broad realignment of listing management features across tiers) is on the list. I am advocating for this work to get done ASAP, but we don't currently have an estimate.
Regarding Beachfront in particular, I am able to find search results for Plus listings with the Beachfront amenity in San Diego, for example. I will look into this myself, but have you checked to see if you're able to select certain amenities through the Airbnb phone app compared to the website, and vice versa? This had been a problem in the past, but I'm unable to confirm currently because I'm not able to log into a Plus test listing through my phone.
Hi @Clay
Thanks for the advice!
I was able to select the Beachfront amenity through the Airbnb phone App.
