COVID 19 - everyone is hurting

Everyone is hurting, nobody wants to treat anyone unfairly but why is Airbnb going all out to help travellers and doing nothing for hosts? Surely Airbnb can think of some  compromise that can be reached to avoid crushing hosts and their business. I am naively baffled that they wouldn't do something to help all parties.
