Changing your phone number in accounts section

Hello.  I have had difficulty getting an answer from Airbnb reps on how to change my phone number for guests to contact me and how to get the 2-step ID done if I no longer have the SIm car and number that I previously had.  

The reps keep telling me to go into the account section and edit, but that only prompts the 2-step verification, which I cannot receive.  The reps told me to inquire for "help," which I did, and they only block the account and then opened it up a few hours later and on and on.  

I called and the same thing.  Have no clue what to do.  Does anyone have a solution?  This must be a fairly common problem.

If a phone number is to be changed, best practice is to add the new number while the old one is still active,so you can receive the verification code to enter the edit screen.

If the old phone number is not available anymore, then use the procedure listed here in section "troubleshooting":

If it does not work, only option left is to contact Airbnb....
