This month we're highlighting the American state Atlanta, also known as the "Capital of the South,". Atlanta is a dynamic and vibrant city with a rich history and a thriving cultural scene. Located in the state of Georgia, Atlanta is not only a major economic and business hub but also a popular tourist destination ✈️

One of the city's most iconic landmarks is the Atlanta skyline, dominated by the impressive Bank of America Plaza and the Peachtree Tower. The city is also home to several renowned attractions, including the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site 😊

Atlanta is also known for its diverse and vibrant food scene, with numerous restaurants offering a wide range of cuisines, from Southern classics to international flavours. The city is particularly famous for its delicious barbecue and soul food 🍲

We rent our place in Mableton, GA, which is the town just on the northwest border of Atlanta, and we can see the beautiful skyline from our road.  It's like living in the country and only 11 miles/17.7 kms from downtown Atlanta.

The attractions in our immediate area are:

1. The Mable House, a historical arts center and amphitheater: https://mablehouse.org/, a popular place for concerts and art courses.
2. Silver Comet Trail: https://www.silvercometga.com/, over 90 miles/145 kms of former railway that spans from Georgia to Alabama that has been paved over and now allows only pedestrians and cyclists, no cars are allowed. 
3. Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park: https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia.
4. Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves baseball team: https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia.
5. The Battery shopping and dining center which is located at Truist Park: https://batteryatl.com/
6. Cobb Galleria Centre: https://cobbgalleria.com/, a convention and events center.
