my current booking feels he has made a mistake and my place is too small. He is asking for a refund. Tonight is his second night. He is booked for 7 nights.
My minimum is 2 nights and I charge a cleaning fee. I like to have happy clients but I know I don’t have to refund.
what should I do?
Shall I let him check out and charge 2 nights and the $50 cleaning fee?
Personally I would let the guest know that they need to cancel through Airbnb who will process the cancellation in line with the cancellation terms they booked under.
If you want you can suggest to the guest that if you get a replacement booking for the nights they are cancelling you would be happy to provide a proportional refund for any dates rebooked @Megan357
The guest needs to cancel through Airbnb. Airbnb will sanction you if you cancel too many times. I would just charge for the two nights and the cleaning fee and call it good. You don't need the headache of these types of guests; guests like this love to leave retaliatory reviews and you don't need that.
