Hello can anyone one explain to me what exactly is a Co Host, what do they do? What percentage they charge?
Hi @Gerdara0 I hope you’re well.
A co-host is a general term for someone who supports you in the running of your listing, usually you’ll add them to your listing and they’ll be able to see your messaging and calendar, and interact with potential guests and booked guests as you would- if you want them to.
They can do anything you want them to- from doing your cleaning between guests, all the way up to fully managing your listing on your behalf so that you can be hands-free! (With a couple of exceptions, that can be worked around)
You agree with your co-host on the roles each of you take, including how much they get paid- it’ll be different depending on your agreement and the work involved.
Some co-hosts would take a flat $ amount per clean, or per check-in etc, some might take a % of each booking if they’re managing the entire listing lifecycle- and that might vary from anything as low as 10% up to 50%
@Paul1255 OK, just mentioned it because they cannot actually "do anything you want them to...all the way up to fully managing your listing on your behalf so that you can be hands-free!"
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
.
@Gerdara0 A co-host is someone manages all or some aspects of the listing for the host. In the case of a host who lives far from their listing, the co-host may meet and greet guests, orient them around the place, manage cleaning services or do the cleaning themselves, contact and schedule service technicians if repairs are needed, be on call to assist guests if necessary, or deal with them if they are being objectionable in some way, disturbing the neighbors, sneaking in extra people or pets, etc. The host might deal with the bookings and guest nessages themselves, or the co-host may do that as well.
Or a co-host may just be on call if the host goes out if town, is ill, etc, and can't handle things themselves.
A co-host could be someone who does that professionally, or a friend, relative or neighbor.
So what co-host services may cost would be dependent on what their duties entail.
Thank you..
Is it possible to find a Co Host here? I'm sorry I'm new to this.
@Gerdara0 no. Airbnb previously had a co-host-finding board but they discontinued it long ago.
That's not good
@Gerdara0 I’ve connected with the majority of the hosts I co-host for here on the cc, after the demise of the matching service. Granted it won’t be the most time effective way to find someone tho 🙂
You might be better off joining some local Facebook hosting groups to see if you can connect with someone local there.
