Earlier this year , we held our Host meet up at Charlotte’s place, an Experience Host based near Hasanpur, Haryana, in India. Host Charlotte graciously opened the doors of her countryside farm to share profound knowledge and passion for horses with us guests.
Charlotte’s approach to hosting goes beyond just offering a simple experience – it’s an immersive journey of discovery and connection with these majestic creatures. At Charlotte’s idyllic farm nestled in the countryside, guests have the extraordinary opportunity to learn firsthand about the principles and techniques of natural horsemanship.
During our time at the farm, Charlotte guided us through various aspects of this wonderful skill , like understanding horse behavior and body language to building trust and communication with these magnificent animals. We had the chance to observe and participate in hands-on activities, such as grooming, leading, and ground exercises, all designed to foster a deeper understanding and connection with the horses.
The fun didn’t stop there! Since our meetup coincided with January, Charlotte decided to add a special twist by introducing us to the tradition of ‘The King’s Cake’ – or as the French call it, Galette des Rois. This delightful pastry, traditionally enjoyed on Epiphany, holds a hidden surprise inside known as the “fève.” As we indulged in slices of this delectable cake, laughter filled the air as we eagerly searched for the hidden charm. And lo and behold, it was Charlotte who discovered the fève, rightfully earning her the title of “queen” for the day!
It was moments like these that truly encapsulated the spirit of our host community – coming together to learn, laugh, and celebrate the unique experiences that bring us closer. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the new year than by immersing ourselves in the joy of these magnificent creatures and indulging in a taste of French tradition.
Thank you, Charlotte, for opening your home to us, and for sharing your passion for horses and French culture in such a special way as a host. Here’s to many more unforgettable experiences with our incredible host community!
Do you have a host story where someone went above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience during your stay? Let’s celebrate those incredible hosts who make travel truly special.
I do not have an extraordinary story to tell. The only thing I can share with you is our care for our guess. We make sure they are comfortable and have what they need to have a pleasant stay in our home. I think we have accomplished such task as all or most of our guest explain to us that they are comfortable with us. We tried to please our guest in every stay always , we always ask if they need anything or we can give them extra things needed for them to have a nice stay. We will continue to do it as we love to host in our home.

Hello @Elizabeth3207,
As you mentioned, putting in so much effort and paying attention to every detail truly goes above and beyond for your guests.
Do you personally welcome each of them?
We’d love to hear more about your experience! 😊
I always try to be there but sometimes they arrive when I am not home, in that case I rely on my TTlock app that lets me know a guest has arrived, then I send them a text welcoming them to the house and giving them some instruction about the kitchen and other items that I will show physically as I come to the house..
Thank you for sharing the meetup and experience with Charlotte and her farm experience! The pics were beautiful and made me feel as if I was there with you guys!
Hello @Keshav7
What a wonderful story! Horses are such intelligent animals, and we can certainly learn many skills through our interactions with them.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful story with our community 🙏
@Keshav7 thank you for sharing your meet up story by going out to Charlotte's farm. To me, this points out that as Hosts we have different accommodations, locations and environments to share with our Guests.
This was also an opportunity for you and other Hosts to meet up that are in your community and sharing the tradition of " The Kings Cake".
