The platform has some features which are not visible at first sight. Which "hidden" option did you encounter ?
I start with one of mine:
Changing a reservation by the host:
The change form initially shows only YOUR earned amount of the reservation. Click in the pricefield (change nothing) , then click outside this field: you see what has been charged to the guest.
Ooo, good one, @Emiel1 . I will use that!
The hidden one I like is Reviews By You.
I like using old reviews as a template on those days when I just cannot dredge up the wording for yet another review of yet another set of nice, normal guests.
You used to find Reviews By You through Profile. But now you have to be tricky. Go to the host dashboard, scroll down to Notifications. Click the Go To Notifications link. Try to make one of the "Learn how!" or "Try this experience!" alerts go away by clicking the X. That will take you to a page with your photo on it. You can scroll down to find Reviews & References on the left. Click that and it will show you Reviews about you, and you can click on the other tab which is Reviews By You.
Yeah, I know. It would easier just to write the new review from scratch...
Or when on a computer:
bookmark (and open in new tab):
https://www.airbnb.com/users/reviews :>)
(change ".com" to whatever local website you use)
Yes, I did bookmark it, @Emiel1 . I should have said. I don't have the patience for the amount of clicking that would take each time...
And the big question, of course, is why Airbnb hides ANYTHING.
Here's mine- I hate the new dashboard calendar. I couldn't find anywhere to be able to see the old entire month calendar view. Found it by accident one day by clicking on "calendar" on the upper right on my listing edit page.
@Sarah977 On calendar dashboard you can click on your listing name (which appears to the left of the left of the vertical calendar) and it will take you to the much better monthly view of the calendar.
Thanks for that. Good to know all the ways to get to something. But accessing it from the dashboard isn't any easier than accessing it from my listing page. In fact, I have never been able to understand the value or purpose of the dashboard and almost never go there, as everything I need can just be accessed from the top hosting menu.
@Emiel1 Not updating the Promotions page...It's stuck in a grove like a scratched record!!
It used to be able to be refreshed and one would get a clean new slate, but not now, where's the hidden notification how to fix this annoying IT glitch?
Here is one I discovered:
From a smart phone under Guest Resources you can create check-in-instructions and include pictures to help with the check in process. (I have yet to find where you can create or edit this from a computer. Only from a smart phone.) In the inbox where you message back and forth with guests, there used to be a key icon where you could easily send this link to guest before their anticipated arrival. But Airbnb removed it. I found a way to still access this so we can still send this link to our guests. How I originally stumbled upon this work around I can't remember. I'm just glad I figured it out so I can still send it to our guest. Many have told me how extremely helpful this link has been.
If you have already created this check-in-instructions resource it has a specific web link similar to this:
https://www.airbnb.com/reservation/check-in-guide/XXXXXXXX. Replace the X's with your listings specific numbers. Hope everyone finds this helpful. I know it was helpful to us, as this is a very important step in our check in process.
