I have Superhost status. My guest messaged me that they plan to leave a day early. The upcoming reservation was booked months ago and Is upcoming in days. She is assuming she can change her reservation. A. She is outside the cancellation policy she agreed to. B. She received a 7-day discounted weekly rate. She hasn t checked in yet and I'm worried we will be off to a bad start. I explained how Airbnb is not like checking into a hotel that the date was blocked for her booking, that she is outside the cancellation window and suggested she contact Airbnb administration. I don't see why I should incur a 14% loss because she wishes to bug out early.
I have self check-in check-out so my interaction could be made minimal. 😄
You can change the reservation ("shortening") also, having the extra option to amend the price in the change form to what you think is a fair deal. Be aware it can affect your cancellation policy, so choose the right moment.
Or simply stick to the current booking, risking a bad start or even bad review..
