Hi other hosts
I would so welcome anyone with experience of a big damage claim's experience here as I'm just not getting anywhere with Airbnb.
Has any other host had experience with a Host Guarantee inspector? This is mentioned in the terms and conditions but I have been asking Airbnb since 7th September whether they are going to send someone out and when so that I can schedule repairs in afterwards but had no response. I'm finding that to date the Claims department have just ignored and avoided the question. The list of damage, photos, video etc was submitted on 25th August in a route agreed with Airbnb (couldn't use form because the guest concerned turned out to be in fact a county lines drug gang).
Question 2 is that the Terms and Conditions state that you need to hang onto any damaged property. I asked how long do I need to hang onto this for? Assuming this is for the inspector but again no answer. I've now got a deadish plant plus various other bits of furniture damaged etc that I need to throw away having held onto them for a month but again no answers for Airbnb. Anyone else had this issue and know the answer?
I've lost about £2.5k this month in cancelled bookings and have a guest booked in for a month later this week that it looks sadly as if I'm going to have to cancel too as I just can't get answers out of Airbnb but can't risk jeopardising the Terms and Conditions in the Host Guarantee as the damage claim is at the moment just over £10k.
I have another questions but will post separately.
