Help Request.

Hi. We urgently need help. Our account was deactivated 27 days ago by Airbnb because when they requested we upload an id, it was not recognized by the system.
We resent it but by this time they account was suspended.
we have since clarified this with Airbnb and supposedly the account should have been reactivated within 48-72 hours. This has not happened and we are unable to receive bookings.
We have called countless times only to be told the support people cannot do anything, only ‘escalate this with the appropriate department’. We’re told the reactivation should be automatic via the system, well it’s not because we’ve been waiting almost a month.
At some point we were told we would be out in touch with a department who could speed up the process, also not happened.
Does anyone have a suggestion? We are super hosts with an excellent history with Airbnb so we’re a bit upset.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately Airbnb can deactivate your account for any reason, or no reason, and they don’t have to tell you why.

You can keep politely asking CS for help. Remember that screaming, ranting and cursing do NOT help.

You can state your complaint on Facebook and Twitter.

You can, and should, list your place on VRBO, TripAdvisor, and maybe Booking.com if you don’t mind collecting the money yourself.

You are not the only host who has been abused this way. Airbnb expects loyalty from hosts but offers none to hosts.

We have to hedge our bets.
