Hi, I am Martin Fuller. I have set up Magpie Cottage as a homestay BnB in Taumarunui in the centre of the North Island of New...
I just had a guest who, two days before her arrival, decided to send me pages of questions.
she was staying for her fiancé’s birthday & wanted to know if I had any advice on a “grand gesture” (really, two days before arriving?!)
Also asked every other question under the sun, a lot of which were already outlined in my listing.so after this, I knew she was going to be a very needy guest.
During her stay, she requested extra firelogs & then was messaging me at 9pm on Saturday that she couldn’t get the grill to light.
Sunday she used my personal Amazon prime account without my authorization to rent two movies at $4.53 each.
also left the place messy with cooked food left out in pots
how should I word her review?
@Andrea4731 Something like "High maintenance guest with pages of questions, many of which were answered in the listing info. Extra cleaning required after check-out. Charged 2 movies to my Amazon Prime account without permission. Cannot recommend."
Put parental protection on your Amazon account, which requires a password to make video or subscription purchases. The way that Prime Video is set up there is little distinction between what is and isn't included in Prime, and is too easy to purchase a video, and not realize there is a cost.
Ok, thank you! Every time I have ordered a movie I always thought it asked me to confirm the purchase, I just didn’t think people would think it was ok to charge my personal account.. but sadly I should’ve know better.
I have a grand gesture for her. It only requires one finger.
“Would host this guest again, but only if I was unable to schedule an unnecessary root canal instead.”
Yessss, thank you! Haha
@Andrea4731 I would suggest that you mention that she is very demanding, unthoughtful, messy and difficult. If it's true, then other hosts should be warned. Guests like this will most likely leave you a bad review, so return the favor.
