Hi everyone,
In November I was scrolling through properties in our area and noticed that there was an identical copy of our listing on Airbnb under a complete different hosts name.
I contacted Airbnb immediately to make them aware of the situation. They said I need to wait for the correct department to contact me - I still have not received any correspondence.
I’ve also reported and flagged the listing - could everyone else please go onto the listing and report and flag it. Hopefully then Airbnb will actually take some notice and do something about it - Here’s a link to the fraudulent listing https://abnb.me/w5JLnT0AIcb
If you go on my listing you can see ‘Lara’ has copied all my pictures and one part of the description. They’ve also put the nightly price at a much cheaper price than our prices.
I’ve looked through her calendar and it looks like she’s even got bookings too.
I dont want she thinks she’s going to gain from it but I’m worried about the impact it has on my listing.
Appreciate your thoughts,
Kind regards
Dominique
@Dominique738 I clicked your link to the fraudulent listing and it appears to be gone. Perhaps it has already been removed by arbnb.
I thought that was maybe the case but I’ve clicked the link again and the listing is still showing up. If you could try it again that would be great. Thank you so much.
@Dominique738 When I click again it says I don’t have access in red so I think it’s gone, but perhaps someone with more experience can confirm that for you. Good luck...fraudsters are awful.
Hi, I just tried the link and couldn't get the listing, here's what came back.... Hope this helps.
When I click on the link it comes up but then sometimes I too get that fault message. I’m not sure what’s going on.
Thank you for trying though 😊
@Dominique738 Rather than clicking the link I did a search for the exact title and it was the first thing that came up, with a proper Airbnb URL, but when I clicked through, it disappeared.
Sorry you're having this really annoying problem! Have you sent a direct message on Twitter to @airbnbhelp? That often gets a response. They will ask for the name, telephone number, and email address associated with your account. Then if I were you I would give them both links, your legitimate one and the fraudulent one. It should be very clear to them that the other one is fraudulent because it says "abnb.me," not "airbnb.com."
Thank you so much for your help.
I’ve just received a message from the trust and safety team and they’ve now removed the user and the listing. Hoorah - thanks once again.
