Host Leaving Review After Cancellation

So I cancelled an Airbnb, after already having arrived. The host received all of the money except for the last night. The reason I cancelled is because there was construction outsiden during the day, making it hard to work, and the host was being very controlling about small details. This is the first time I have cancelled an airbnb after traveling for two and a half years.

Well, the host leaves a review saying that I cancelled the reservation. What kind of review of this? This reflects badly on my profile, and I don't feel it is appropriate - if they don't want guests to cancel, they can simply not allow refunds. They shouldn't be leaving reviews when guests cancel if they allow cancellations. Is there any way to remove this from my profile? Or can I at least respond to it, like hosts can respond to reviews on their profile?

Yes, you can certainly respond to the review. But honestly, there's no need to. All that will do is call attention it. Just saying that you cancelled before the end of your stay doesn't reflect badly on you- it could have been for any legitimate reason, having nothing to do with the listing or the host, like a family emergency, a change of work plans, whatever. If it was your only review, and the host said you cancelled for bogus reasons and demanded a full refund, that would be a different story, but you have scores of excellent reviews- no host is going to decline your booking because of that no-information review.

I do agree it was kind of a pointless review for the host to leave, and as such, as a host myself, I would look at your review page and think that you looked like a fine guest I'd be happy to host.
