How long is preapproval good for?

How long is preapproval good for? Is it 24 hours that they have to book once you pre-approve them?

Pre-approvals last for 24 hours after the host sends it to you 🙂

If someone is enquiring to book for the following day, 24 hrs is too long to wait to see if they confirm the booking. I think it should be reduced to 12 hours! Especially when after contacting them and preapproval the majority don't even bother to get back to let you know!

@Helen403   maybe so, but I suppose they have taken time differences into consideration with their 24 hour window.  And a pre-approval does not block your calendar, others are free to book unless you tick the "block the calendar" box.  Personally, I would not block my calendar for those shopping around last minute.
