My friend told me that when a guest book a long stay for more than 28 days that gives them the rights same as the owner of the property! Could someone confirm is this true?
Your long term guests could get tenant's rights, which vary depending on the city & state where you live. I believe tenants have quite a lot of rights in NY. Google, " Tenant rights NY, NY" and study up before you get a long term guest.
@Amelia343 Not the 'same rights as the owner' but 'tenant rights' in many states can be claimed after 28 days, and if the guest does claim this, then you have to follow NY rules for eviction, which are costly and very, very time consuming. This is why we won't do long term guests on Airbnb, because there is no protection against this.
