What would it be called? Would it be a sitcom, a drama, a mystery series, something else? (Lets hope not a crime drama.)
I often think that the host/guest experience is worthy of a reality show (I called it! HGTV please contact me for my creative licensing fee...) There are a couple of makeover shows like "Stay Here" on Netflix, but I am thinking one that talks to hosts to hear their stories, to guests about why they chose this space, etc. Of course a "reality show" emphasizes the bizarre, but we all know that the bizarre can and does sometimes happen.
So if you were the star of your own AibnbTV show what would it be like and why?
The history knows only one genre of movies, filmed at STR properties - amateur porn.
Sorry but...that's the brutal truth. If someone ever asks you to film a move in your property, you can be 99,999% sure, that it will be porn- "Naked Big Brother" or something like this.
Another show idea- CS Confidential a Customer Service rep wears a costume and anonymously tells us how things really get done on their end and how to actually get our problems solved when we call in.
Mine would be called Bed and Make Your Own Effin' Breakfast.
Mine would be "The Mysterious Case of the Lost Utility Scissors." Perhaps not so mysterious after all. But I can never find them after guests leave. They live in the knife block on the kitchen counter. Or should, Sometimes they walk away entirely. Sometimes they are in some very odd places (beside the toilet upstairs? I don't want to know.) The secret life of these scissors has got to be riveting viewing.
I must admit I often youtube search "Bad Airbnb Guests"
Unfortunately, not many are posted and they're not done well.
I would love to see an Airbnb reality show - I'm morbidly curious.
@Laura2592 mine would be Hangover Part 5, the Airbnb Adventure. It would feature my guests, my cleaning crew and soon enough me as I would have to start drinking soon enough to keep going.
@Laura2592 my husband and I usually look at one another and say "another one for the book." I remember a post here fairly recently where a host talked about finding her new cleaning lady passed out drunk in her property. That one made me hoot!
Today's story at one of our places was guests who checked out after putting leftover weed down the kitchen garbage disposal. When the housekeeper ran the disposal it made the whole condo smell like cannabis. The guests response was "well we didn't smoke it in the condo."
Yesterday, a repeat guest, who's always been great, put dish liquid in the dishwasher. What a mess! Thankfully I was in right after they left and we were able to clean it up fairly easily. But it wasn't how I had planned to spend the morning. I didn't think I had to put a warning label on the dish liquid, but perhaps I do!
Then there was the guest over the summer who called me at 5:30 in the morning because there was a bear in the parking lot when they were going out to catch the sunrise. Five thirty. In the morning...
Oh the book we could write collectively!
Some guests are so great though. I have a guest who comes a couple of times a year. Recently I forgot to change the code and gave him the new code - whoops! He got in late and ended up getting to the house around 2am. I turn off my cell around 11pm so I didn't respond to his calls and messages. He ended up sleeping in his rental car in the driveway! Bless his heart he still gave me a good review.
