Hey there!
I'm an Airbnb host from Rishikesh, and I recently renovated my property, Shankar Bhawan, to create a cozy and inviting stay for travelers. While I didn’t buy a 1 euro home, my renovation journey was still quite intense and rewarding!
A few things I’ve learned along the way:
:hammer_and_wrench:️ It’s a Full-Time Job: Hosting isn’t just about listing your space—it’s a daily commitment. You'll have great opportunities, but you’ll also need to be highly available and hands-on.
🧹 Immaculate Cleanliness is Key: Cleanliness can make or break your reviews. I often handle cleaning myself because I feel it's never quite perfect unless I do it. Guests truly notice and appreciate that extra effort.
🚀 Constant Improvement: Even though it’s only been a week since I reopened, I’m already improving one thing or another every day—and honestly, there’s still a lot on my plate!
🖌️ Balancing Aesthetics & Functionality: Small touches like an automatic air freshener, a full-size mirror for aesthetics (and Instagram pics!), and a curated food menu have added value without overwhelming me.
🙏 Heritage & Spiritual Vibes: Shankar Bhawan has an in-house Shivji temple that’s been part of the property for years, giving it a unique heritage touch. Guests often appreciate the peaceful, traditional vibe this brings to their stay.
If you have questions about renovation, guest experience, or day-to-day hosting, feel free to ask! Wishing you the best on your Airbnb journey—it’s challenging but truly fulfilling. 😊
