Let the lights shine on.....
Dual purpose lights for Christmas, our neighbours and guests.
Garry spruced up the balcony decking and rails with new coats of paint. But for him to undertake the task, he had to remove quite a few old and not bright lights. With the new paintwork dry, I suggested he either go buy some prettier lights, or he would need to put the old ones he disliked, back up! 😱
So after a visit to the hardware store, he set the task of installing them, early one evening, when a bit cooler.
You see we have LED strip lights along the base of the railing for guests to find the house at night as well as assist for safety when getting in and out of cars. But they are functional - not pretty!
So our new small ones are warm golden in their glow. The larger traditional bulb shaped LED lights, now also change colour. They were all red at the time I took the very poor photo.
But I must say, they lift the spirit of our neighbours and ourselves, so we are very glad we made the change.
Anyone else using Christmas lights for “yep, that’s the place” as well as guest safety?
Consider taking a photo and uploading it, so we can all be inspired....🎄🎄🎄.. 😊 ..🎄🎄🎄

I've moved this now @Cathie19!
I'm using some outdoor Xmas lights. I tried taking a photo of them at night, but they work on solar power and did not have any power at the time! I will give it another go tonight and post it here :).

Love the lightworx @Cathie19 ! Its duality is also awesome, we added LED rope lights on the deck and entry porches to light up the safe entry and egress of guests a few years ago and its served all of us well. I will dig up some pics of them and add them here. Stay well, JR

Looks wonderful @Cathie19 - I congratulate Garry on his handy work. He isn't available to do jobs in the UK is he? 🙂 (Maybe next Christmas)
I have to say, I am really enjoying seeing all the festive lights up around my area, there are definitely more this year and I think people are doing it to add brightness. I was tempted to put a giant Santa on my roof, but then had second thoughts... hehe
I do have a tree up, which is sparkling bright in my living room. I'll take a photo...

Here you go @Cathie19. I'm sorry for the rather terrible photo I was trying not to get the heating controller in! hehe
I need a few more tree baubles, I haven't quite built up a traditional collection yet (just a very pink reindeer which is a must have for any tree), I need to speak to my nieces and nephews, as I'm sure they get creative at school. 🙂
I do love the sparkle it brings to my home.
Any other trees or decorations anyone would like to share?

Well @Lizzie , I think it’s pretty grand as it has sparkle, is a real tree and no one can dispute the pink reindeer!
Will he be your family tradition?
When my kids were teenagers, they use to ramble on in conversation /story mode, then say, well I’m sorry, but it needs a dragon. Or it needs another dragon! Totally random with nothing to do with the conversation.
⁉️‼️❓
So to this day, we might randomly suggest it needs another dragon.
I think it’s pink reindeer in your house! 🌸🎀💝🦌

Photo is of the apartment grounds. Henry was never big on holiday-appropriate decorating so it will be up to me to do a little bit of decorating at home this weekend 😀
