Losing superhost status

Hi, I received an email today informing me that my superhost status had not been achieved.

At present I have 90 reviews, of those 88 are 5*, 1 is 4* and the last 1*. The reason? I evicted

this guest for using drugs in the apartment, she has two reviews that both had the same issues,

she also informed me after booking that she had a cat.

Due to this guest then reporting me for having video surveillance in the property (a total fabrication.) I was instantly blocked by AirB&B for almost two weeks where they would not talk

to me supposedly while they “investigated.” This being for hosting and booking.

Quite frankly I am sick to death of AirB&B being so blasé with my situation, surely someone with

Half a brain could see this guest was the instigator and that there review was simply vindictive and

not based upon a true reflection of what my property offers.

I suppose data is just fed into a computer and the results are what the computer says so it must be right. I suggest AirB&B reverse this decision otherwise I will be removing my property from their portfolio.

@Andrew1763   I really feel your pain here, particularly as her simple review does not violate Airbnbs review policy and therefore they will not take it down.  In addition, it is difficult to prove a ‘smell’ so Airbnb don’t tend to enforce hosts complaints of this type without hard evidence.

I am finding it increasingly frustrating and stressful when hosting whilst trying my best to provide more than I actually have in my listing and at the same time ignore blatant breaking of house rules in order to avoid that potentially negative review should I dare calling the guest out on it.  So far I have been fortunate, but I am well aware that it could be ‘just around the corner’ for many of us at which point we are totally at the mercy of customer support.

Hopefully you will get some better guests and re-gain your Superhost status soon.

Hi Katie,

many thanks for your message, I only just saw as was directed to my spam folder. They did eventually remove her review but I haven’t had all benefits restored. I really feel that AirB&B should adopt the diving vote system where the highest and lowest are thrown out, this would take away any blatantly biased reviews like I received. Thankfully most guests are lovely people.

Have a lovely day

Andy

Glad to hear you managed to get the review removed. I trust that the ratings were also removed? If not, I would push for that and don't let the rep tell you it's not possible because it absolutely is.

If they did remove the ratings and your score is therefore high enough for Superhost, what was the reason for not reinstating it? Did they tell you that it was because the rating was removed after the assessment period?
