Hey guys I book recently and the place I choose did not enclose that they had rules due to covid issues, my kids are looking forward to certain activities that were promising due to the pictures on the website, and after I paid I was informed that it will be closed due to covid. I'm feeling like this is false advertising if the host knew it was close due to covid why not updated the description of the location

If the host has told you after you booked that a key amenity is now not available you can contact Airbnb and ask them to cancel the booking on these grounds and find something more suitable for you and your family @Brandy97

@Brandy97  if a listed amenity is not available and this was not disclosed then you can contact Airbnb and they should give you a penalty free cancellation.

@Brandy97  Are you talking about things that were part of the listing, like a swimming pool, or local attractions that are closed?

If it's the former, yes, the host should have let you know, although as far as it being stated in the listing, those restrictions may not have been in place at the time you booked.

If you are talking about local attractions outside the property, like a water park or something, those things too can be opening or closing on a moment's notice, and the host isn't responsible for that- the guest should do their own research as to what is open and what isn't.

Hi @Brandy97

Welcome to the community 😊

I am sorry to hear about your experience and frustration.

The host's lack of communication didn't update the listing, and the announcement is inaccurate.

The guest could contact Airbnb Support Help Center to cancel the reservation on the host's behalf, request a full refund, require Airbnb to find a new place within the budget, and leave the listing immediately.

You could leave an honest review to the public of the listing is faulty and the poor communication of the host. Communication plays a vital role in the success and failure of the host, and correcting the listing is essential to the announcement.
